THE FACILITIES

The recreation reserve committee oversee and maintain the facilities of the Girgarre recreation reserve on behalf of the Shire of Campaspe. The sporting precinct contains a football / cricket oval plus a second cricket ground, 4 tennis courts and a multi-purpose netball/tennis court as well as a well-equipped social rooms. The main user groups are the Girgarre Tennis club, Girgarre Cricket club and the Girgarre Football Netball club.

The recreation reserve also has well equipped social rooms for hire including:

the TENNIS CLUB
ABOUT US

The Girgarre tennis club competes in the Kyabram District Tennis Association and currently has 2 senior teams playing Saturday afternoon and 4 junior teams in the Saturday morning competition. Our juniors are once again being coached by the capable Sheree Starling.
​
2018 saw the commencement of the Hot Shots program, aimed at introducing children aged 3-8 years old to the terrific game of tennis.

The Girgarre Cricket Club compete in the Goulburn Murray Cricket Association and currently has a B grade, C grade and D grade side competing in the competition.

The Girgarre Football Netball Club is affiliated in the Kyabram Football League. The footballers have a Seniors, Reserves and Under 18 side. The netballers have A, B and C grade as well as under 17's and under 15's. The Stanhope Girgarre Rushworth Giants Juniors also play at Girgarre and have an Under 14's and Under 10's.

The Girgarre Carpet Bowlers are a small but committed group taking steps to increase interest in the competition back to a time when most locals groups had a team. The focus for the 2018 season is to try and attract more juniors to come and have a go with view to growing the competition once again.
​
Carpet Bowls is an accessible sport suitable for all ages.
